Wu Lei and Gustavo scored two goals each, leading Shanghai Port to a 5-2 victory over Changchun Yatai at home in the 11th round of the Chinese Super League (CSL) on Friday. Wu had a chance to complete a hat-trick, but his penalty in the 17th minute was annulled after a VAR review due to an offside. The 32-year-old striker remains at the top of the scorer's list with 12 goals this season. Gustavo initiated the scoring in the 10th minute, followed by Wu quickly doubling the lead. Sun Guoliang of the visiting team narrowed the gap with a powerful shot, but Matias Vargas responded in the closing minute of the first half to make it 3-1. In the 58th minute, Robert Beric scored for the visitors after Wu's half-volley, but Gustavo's header in the 72nd minute ultimately secured the win for Shanghai Port. With this victory, Shanghai Port is now second in the league with 24 points, just two points behind city rivals Shanghai Shenhua. Chengdu Rongcheng, after defeating Henan FC 4-2 on the same day, is close behind in third place. In other matches, Wang Jianming's brace enabled Qingdao Hainiu to secure a 2-2 draw with Nantong Zhiyun. |
